THE PATHWAY GUIDE

A little clarity.
A better starting point.

Australia has more than one skilled migration route. Understanding the broad shape is useful. Knowing which one fits your circumstances takes an individual assessment.

General information. Not immigration advice. Your US status does not establish Australian eligibility. Check current official rules and seek advice from an independent OMARA-registered migration agent before making decisions.

TWO DIFFERENT STARTING POINTS

A role-led route.
A skills-led route.

01 / EMPLOYER-SPONSORED

It begins with an employer.

An Australian employer identifies a role and, where the programme allows, sponsors or nominates an eligible worker. The role, employer and applicant each have requirements to meet.

Examples include the temporary Skills in Demand visa and the permanent Employer Nomination Scheme. A job offer does not itself grant a visa or establish a permanent residence outcome.

02 / POINTS-TESTED

It begins with your profile.

Some skilled routes use a points-based expression of interest through the government’s SkillSelect system. Factors include qualifications, experience, age and English language ability.

State or territory nomination may apply to particular routes. Meeting a minimum points threshold does not promise an invitation, and an invitation is not a visa grant.

THE ROUTE WE FOCUS ON

Sponsored job first.
Permanent residence later, if eligible.

For experienced tech professionals, an employer-sponsored route is one option to understand. It is not a promise of a visa or permanent residence. In broad strokes, it can look like this.

  1. 01

    Offer

    An employer nominates your role

An approved Australian sponsor offers you a role and lodges a nomination. They pay the nomination costs, including the Skilling Australians Fund levy.

  2. 02

    Temporary visa

Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482)

A temporary skilled visa tied to sponsored employment. Partners and children can usually be included, and partners generally have work rights.

  3. 03

    Around two years later

    Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186)

Through the Temporary Residence Transition stream, many sponsored workers can seek permanent residence after around two years of sponsored work. Age, English, skills and employer requirements apply.

A simplified overview, not advice. Settings change, and eligibility must be assessed individually by an OMARA-registered migration agent.

WHERE WE FIT

We focus on the
career connection.

Recruitment and immigration are connected decisions. They are separate services.

Our part: recruitment

Explore your experience and relocation priorities, consider suitable roles, and facilitate employer introductions when there is a relevant opportunity.

The employer’s part: hiring

The employer assesses role fit, makes hiring decisions and determines whether sponsorship is available for the role, subject to applicable requirements.

The agent’s part: immigration assistance

An independent OMARA-registered migration agent can assess visa options and assist with applications. Home Affairs makes visa decisions. No migration-agent partnership is represented on this website.

BEFORE MAKING A MOVE

Good questions come first.

OCCUPATION & EXPERIENCE

What matches your actual work?

Job titles do not tell the whole story. Duties, qualifications, the relevant occupation rules and any skills assessment or professional registration requirements matter.

ROLE & HOUSEHOLD

What needs to work in real life?

Review the actual offer, current salary requirements, location, housing, schools and moving costs. Partner work rights and family eligibility need individual advice.

RULES & DECISIONS

What must be checked now?

Occupation lists, salary thresholds and visa settings may change. We deliberately avoid publishing a shortcut eligibility score or a promised timeline.

Two different expressions of interest. The interest form on this website is for recruitment only. It is not a government SkillSelect EOI, visa application, eligibility assessment or request for sponsorship.
